One of the leading financial institutions of the world Standard Chartered, has recently partnered with Apollo Global Management towards the construction of the $3 billion green energy partnership which japan plans to allocate towards diverse renewable energy projects across the world. This project deals with pillars of green financing where the infrastructure and energy transition credit will be set up to support the global economy. Apterra: A division of Apollo which specializes in global infrastructure funding will take charge of raising these funds.

In an attempt to cut down their reliance on fossil augmentation, Apollo has initiated a few global sustainability projects such as the SIP will invest 50 billion dollars in clean energy by 2027 and $100 billion towards sustainability by 2030. From 2019 to the present, the firm has put in over $30 billion worth of investments in energy transition and has committed $10 billion worth of clean energy funds for 2023. Moreover, Apollo has managed to become carbon neutral by ensuring their practices are environmentally friendly.

The SC has successfully unlocked $18.4 billion worth of clean technology funding while establishing their green financing portfolio. By the year 2030, the bank will not only allow their company operations but green financing to reach $300 billion. In an attempt to aid the shift towards low carbon alternatives, SC has also provided $35 billion worth of finances from 2020 – 2024 while securing a $235 million green funding cross border loan for a solar manufacturing facility located in the west coast of Texas.
